iCatch Announces V50 SoC for High-End Camera Applications
For action camera and drone applications, V50 can capture actions at 4Kp30 or 1080p120 with the latest H.265 encoder. 4Kp30 records the scene with extreme detail while 1080p120 enables the video to be played back at a slower speed for super slow motion effect. Moreover, without lowering the video resolution when EIS is turned on, V50 can support 5-axis EIS at 4Kp30 to give the user the best experience possible.
VR cameras provide an interesting way to relive the moment for the end user. However, when the camera is only recording at 1080p resolution, the experience is somewhat compromised. With V50 being able to connect up to four sensors and provide the in-camera stitched video at 4Kp30 resolution, the output video quality can finally meet the users' expectations.
Image analytic is getting widely adopted in professional/home security camera market. The cameras now not only record the scene but also try to notify the user when there is potential threats. With the computer vision DSP and iCatch's propietary acceleration engines, camera systems powered by V50 can provide users with greater peace of mind. Moreover, with the lower bit rate enabled by H.265 encoder inside V50, users can live stream videos directly to smartphone on demand.
