iCatch Announces CR1/Ci1 SoCs for Automotive Camera Applications:
iCatch Technology, a global leader in low-power, high-performance digital imaging SoC solutions, today introduces the CR1 and Ci1 SoC series for automotive camera applications. Both product lines are AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualified to meet the stringent requirement by the automotive industry. CR stands for "Car Recording" which includes SoCs designed for video recording applications on automobiles and Ci stands for "Car ISP" which comprises SoCs designed for image processing in automotive camera modules.
CR1's target applications are digital video recorder (DVR), camera monitoring system (CMS) and driver monitoring system (DMS). It has incorporated iCatch's advanced image signal processor (ISP) and video CODEC to capture video up to 4Kp30. Because CR1 is capable of connecting up to two camera inputs, it can also support front/in-cabin or front/rear dual-recording setup. Moreover, CR1 includes an embedded nerual processing unit (NPU) to add intelligence to the camera to enable features such as vehicle detection (VD), pedestrian detection (PD), blind spot detection (BSD), DMS and more. The CR1 series comes in two variations, CR1A and CR1M, where CR1M has an embedded DRAM in the package to enable small form factor designs.
Ci1 is an automotive ISP and its mission is to bring intelligence to the camera module to offload the processing tasks from the central ECU. Ci1 contains iCatch's state-of-the-art ISP for high dynamic range (HDR) processing and its dewarping engine can provide multiple viewpoints to the drivers to assist their driving. What makes Ci1 different from other automotive ISPs in the market is the included NPU. This engine can use deep learning models to detect essential objects on the road, such as vehicle, pedestrian and traffic sign, to enable applications such as intelligent rear-view camera module, BSD camera module, DMS camera module and more. With the distributed processing architecture, Ci1 helps make the automotive imaging systems to be more reliable and efficient.
