iCatch Announces New V37 SoC for AI Camera Applications
iCatch Technology, a global leader in low-power, high-performance digital imaging SoC solutions, today introduces the V37 SoC series for AI camera applications. V37 can capture stunning 4Kp30 video with iCatch's 7th generation image signal processor (ISP) and H.264 high-performance encoder (CODEC). In addition to the ISP and CODEC, V37 has incorporated a state-of-the-art neural processing unit (NPU) to enhance the edge computing capability right on the camera. With the embedded NPU, V37 not only can record high-quality video, but also perform advanced image analytics to bring intelligence to the camera devices. The V37 series includes V37A and V37M, where V37M has an embedded DRAM in the package to enable small form factor designs.
For video doorbell and home security camera applications, V37's NPU can take user experience to the next level. For example, it can enable human recognition to greatly reduce the false trigger rate caused by unwanted outdoor movement to only alert the user when there is actual people at the front door. For home security camera applications, the camera can recognize family members and only send out alerts when there are unknown human or pets in the scene. Moreover, the camera can also tag the recorded video based on preference settings to help users quickly find the video segments that are important to them.
For drone applications, V37 can capture actions at 4Kp30 or 1080p120 with the built-in H.264 encoder and its advanced ISP can support multi-frame HDR combination to capture high contrast scenes and 5-axis electronic image stabilization (EIS) at 4Kp30 to provide highly stabilized video without using a gimbal. The NPU inside V37 can bring additional features to improve the user experience, such as scene recognition, voice commands, human tracking and more.
